Welcome to The Old Malthouse in Selsey!

The Old Malthouse is a beautiful 16th Century building, originally a working granary and Malthouse. Many of it’s original features remain. The sitting room features a large open fire place for a warm and cosy afternoon.

We have a dining room to dine with the residents and a private Dining Room. You are able to invite you family/guests to use our private Dining Room for that special birthday Lunch, or just a family gathering, and we will provide catering to suit your needs for the occasion.

You are encouraged to bring personal items of furniture, bedding, pictures, or anything else that will make your space feel personal to you and help you to feel more at home.

We have 6 monthly formal feedback forms, and would appreciate your honest feedback in order for us to be able to continue to provide an excellent service. In addition to this, The Manager operates an “open door” policy so you can come in for a chat at any time, or, if you do not feel comfortable discussing the matter, you can fill in one of our feedback forms that we will provide you on your admission.

About Our Care.

We ensure we have highly trained Registerd Nurses on shift 24 hours a day 7 days a week. They are constantly updating their Knowledge and Skills with Training days at St. Richards Hospital and St. Wilfreds Hospice, as well as our in house training scheme.

They are supported by an experienced team of Carer's, Housekeepers, Cooks, Laundry personnel and Administrative Staff.

We always ensure that there is at least One Carer to every 3 residents, so we are always fluctuating our staffing levels to ensure it is suffient to meet the needs of our growing clientel.

Your care will be supported with a range of Care Plans. Prior to admission, the Manager will sit down with you and talk about your day to day life currently, and how you feel the transition into care may be. We will work closely with you and your family to ensure you receive the best care possible that meets your needs. This also ensures that you are able to choose the type of care you receive, when you get up in the morning, what you like to eat and when. We pride ourselves in promoting a relaxed atmosphere.
